Reading Evaluations

Our Process
Our process begins with a comprehensive academic evaluation, aimed at assessing your child's strengths and weaknesses when it comes to reading. Learning a la Carte will set up a time to go over their report and share their findings. With our expert team of tutors, we'll work closely with your child to nurture their strengths and address any challenges head-on.
Reading evaluations typically assess a range of fundamental reading skills to provide a comprehensive overview of a student's abilities.
These skills may include:
Phonological Awareness
Phonics
Decoding and Word Recognition
Fluency
Vocabulary
Comprehension

Why?
Reading evaluations play a crucial role in supporting student learning by providing valuable insights into their reading abilities and guiding the implementation of effective instructional practices.
Evaluations measures are typically brief assessments of a specific skill or ability that is highly predictive of a later outcome. Reading evaluations help pinpoint specific areas where a student excels and areas where they may need additional support. A collection of formal and informal reading evaluations are administered to measure specific skills critical to successful reading and provide information about the knowledge and skill base of the student.
